Receptacles
The pilot contact is required for the electrical interlock. Our CEE wall-mounted receptacles, for example, are available with a pilot contact switch. This is a switch inside the receptacle that is operated by inserting and pulling out the plug. The switch ensures the electrical interlocking of the receptacles.
Cepex receptacles are used as a modular system. Regardless of whether SCHUKO®, CEE or data technology is involved: everything is accommodated by the uniform design of our Cepex receptacles across all applications.
We offer wall-mounted receptacles and receptacle combinations made of two different enclosure materials that have different properties. There is an enclosure made of high-quality plastic and another one made of special plastic, which provides protection especially against chemicals and other aggressive substances. The special plastic has a darker color to able to distinguish the plastics visually, which is the reason for the different colors.

Plugs
The color code of a product depends on the nominal operating voltage / voltage it is designed for. Our plug ProTOP is available, for example, in the color codes red, blue, yellow, green and black. You can find an overview of the color codes here
This is theoretically possible up to 32 amperes - but a plug should never be pulled out under voltage!

Dependent on the customer's flow rate specification, compressed air hoses with a nominal diameter of 9 mm or 13 mm are available. In this regard, quick-connect compressed air couplings with matching fittings are offered for the suspended power distributors.

Combinations
The approval number of our products is located inside the enclosure. For products of the AMAXX family, there is also an inspection tag in the window.
We recommend using special membrane screw connections. An installed membrane prevents ingress of external humidity. Due to the simultaneous aeration of the enclosure there is continuous equalization of ambient air and the enclosure interior air. Condensation can thus be continuously dissipated. The membrane cable gland allows introduction of connection lines without restricting aeration.
Dependent on the customer's specification, the products from various modular device manufactures can be used.

PowerTOP Xtra
Our 5-pin, 16 A PowerTOP Xtra plugs and sockets are available as a PowerTOP Xtra R variant. The R stands for robust, high-heat resistant contact carriers and nickel-plated plug and connector contacts. The plug and socket device is therefore especially protected against high humidity and aggressive substances.
SCHUKO®
Cepex receptacles are used as a modular system. Regardless of whether SCHUKO®, CEE or data technology is involved: everything is accommodated by the uniform design of our Cepex receptacles across all applications.
Our panel-mounted SCHUKO® receptacles have a moulded sealing lip and require no separate seal to guarantee that protection class IP44 requirements are met.
Industry
This is a question our Service department will be able to answer on request. A generally applicable statement cannot be made in this regard due to the variety of products. Typically, our products can be used at an altitude of up to 2000 meters in accordance with the international standard DIN EN/IEC 60309 on plugs, socket-outlets and couplers for industrial purpose, which is binding for us.

The enclosures and inserts of our popular plugs and sockets are made of the thermoplastic AMAPLAST (PC/PA), a robust engineering grade plastic which, among other qualities, offers good electrical insulation as well as being unbreakable and resistant to heat, seawater, oil and gasoline. The engineering grade thermoplastic PBT (formerly AMELAN), on the other hand, is a special plastic that we offer for the enclosures and inserts of some plugs and sockets. This plastic provides protection against chemicals and other aggressive substances such as oils, fuels, greases and alkalis. Our products with this special plastic can be used, for example, in the food and chemical industries or in refineries.
The engineering grade thermoplastic PBT (formerly AMELAN) is a special plastic that we offer for the enclosures and inserts of some plugs and sockets. This plastic provides protection against chemicals and other aggressive substances such as oils, fuels, greases and alkalis. Our products with this special plastic can be used, for example, in the food and chemical industries or in refineries.
Structural changes to plastic materials as a result of UV radiation make every type of plastic subject to ageing. Neither MENNEKES nor suppliers of plastic materials can guarantee perfect resistance to UV radiation of plastic materials. We have experienced product lifetimes of 20 years and more with outdoor applications of our products. We are not in a position to specify a minimum service life for our products since they are exposed to a number of different situations during normal use and especially mechanical wear.

Rising temperatures can result in the formation of condensation in receptacle combinations. Special membrane screw connections for protection type IP67 enclosures ensure an exchange of air and prevent evaporation. In practical application, feeding from below has proven to be effective.
The clock position indicates the position of the protective earth (PE) conductor contact on the live end. More information can be found here
The products of our EverGUM family fulfil the requirements for protection type IP44 as standard. We would be happy to check whether we could equip an EverGUM product so that it meets the requirements for another protection type as a special solution.
Connection technologies
ErgoCONTACT refers to a specially enhanced, innovative, easy-to-use screw-contact technology that is available for plugs and sockets. It enables easy, secure, and time-saving installation. To this end, the screwdriver is inserted from the top instead of the side to apply pressure directly against the handle. The screw is additionally guided by a collar. This prevents it from slipping and minimizes the risk of injuries. Each contact has only one screw: a captive combination head screw that is integrated in the guide collar and can be turned using either a Phillips or flathead screwdriver. For products of our product range, you can download the declarations of conformity from the respective product pages, or you can request them. If it is a new receptacle combination that was customised to the needs of the customer, a declaration of conformity will only be available after the order has been received and the first device has been produced.
