FAQ

Question & Answers

Can or should a plug be pulled out when it is live?

This is theoretically possible up to 32 amperes - but a plug should never be pulled out under voltage!

What is a rotating field control test plug?

Three-phase sockets must be connected in such a way that there is a clockwise rotating field. The rotating field control test plug differs from normal plugs due to its transparent enclosure. By means of two control lamps inside the transparent enclosure, this plug indicates whether the field is rotating in a clockwise or anticlockwise direction, or if a phase is missing. In this way, the direction of the rotating field can be checked safely. If the rotating field is correct, the green lamp lights up; if the rotating field is incorrect, the red lamp lights up and if a phase is missing, both lamps light up. You can find our test plug here. More information can be found on page 34 of our Industrial plugs and sockets catalog.

Is there a data sheet for each receptacle combination? How do I go about getting one? Who do I ask?

Yes. A data sheet is available for download for each standard receptacle combination on the product detail page. For customer-specific solutions, a schematic diagram and an electric circuit diagram are included in the product text.

Could I also get AMAXX receptacle combinations with a terminal block?

A single feeder is used with these receptacle combinations as standard, for example, to a residual current circuit breaker. We would be happy to install a terminal block for larger supply lines or a conductor line on request and as specified by you, for example, with the dimensions: 2 x 5 x 25 square mm.

Is there a table with the protection types?

Yes - a current table with the IP protection types can be found here and in our Industrial plugs and sockets catalog on page 104.

Is there a stand available for the mobile EverGUM?

Our EverGUM® combination units are suitable for free-standing floor applications. A stand is therefore not required.

Does MENNEKES offer solutions that can be secured with a padlock or lock cylinder?

Yes, MENNEKES has several solutions available:

  • Our stainless steel receptacle combinations, CombiTOWER, energy bollards and Cepex receptacles are equipped with a lock cylinder and can therefore be locked – perfect protection against unauthorized access.
  • We would also be happy to equip our DUO interlocked receptacles and the windows of our receptacle combination enclosures with a padlock on request.

Are declarations of conformity available for products from MENNEKES, and, if so, how do I go about obtaining these?

For products of our product range, you can download the declarations of conformity from the respective product pages, or you can request them. If it is a new receptacle combination that was customised to the needs of the customer, a declaration of conformity will only be available after the order has been received and the first device has been produced.

Up to which altitude above sea level can products from MENNEKES be used?

This is a question our Service department will be able to answer on request. A generally applicable statement cannot be made in this regard due to the variety of products. Typically, our products can be used at an altitude of up to 2000 meters in accordance with the international standard DIN EN/IEC 60309 on plugs, socket-outlets and couplers for industrial purpose, which is binding for us.
