SCHUKO® IP68

Kirchhundem, March 2026 – MENNEKES is introducing new SCHUKO® plugs and connectors with IP68 protection rating. These products have been developed specifically for applications that place the highest demands on robustness, reliability and resistance to moisture, dust and mechanical stress. They provide secure protection during submersion and ensure a consistently stable power supply – even under extreme conditions.

The new SCHUKO® IP68 plugs and connectors are the ideal solution for challenging outdoor environments. They deliver reliable performance in rain, snow and direct exposure to the elements. On construction sites, they prove their durability thanks to their high resistance to dirt, moisture and intensive mechanical stress. In industrial environments – including production facilities, workshops or dusty manufacturing areas – they ensure safe and stable power delivery at all times.

Organizations such as the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) and the German Armed Forces benefit from the exceptional robustness of the new devices. During operations in flood situations, in rain or in muddy terrain, the products support a safe and dependable energy supply. A key feature of the new product line is the fast and uncomplicated installation. The innovative universal sealing element eliminates the need for adjusting or exchanging different seal inserts. One single silicone seal covers cable diameters from 6.4 to 16.5 millimeters, offering maximum flexibility during installation. The optimized assembly process enables quick and efficient installation. Captive screws increase safety and prevent housing or contact screws from falling out accidentally. A standard PZ2 screwdriver is sufficient for the entire installation process.

Relevant information is placed directly on the insert: a marked stripping length and an integrated template for conductor stripping ensure precise worksteps without additional measuring tools.

The SCHUKO® IP68 products are equipped with a bayonet ring and a protective cap. In the plugged‑in state, they remain watertight even when submerged. The nubbed grip surfaces and the rubberized, nubbed cable gland allow for secure handling – even in wet conditions.
