MENNEKES is about to become a provider of DC charging systems and strategically expands its portfolio with a new product range. As part of an asset deal signed in early May, the German e-mobility pioneer acquires the property rights to the DC charging systems of the start-up CHARGE-V, based in Munich and part of the VISPIRON Group. "The asset deal is the logical consequence of our strategic considerations to expand our product portfolio," explains CEO Christopher Mennekes after signing the contract. "As a leading solution provider for charging infrastructure, we are taking the next step with the new DC systems and corresponding services – all from a single source, all in proven MENNEKES quality."

Completion of the product range with DC charging solutions
Based on the product portfolio of CHARGE-V – specifically the new stand-alone charging stations Compact 80 and Compact 160 and the dispenser Smart 500 – MENNEKES is starting the development of its own DC product line, which will be launched in 2026. "With the solutions from CHARGE-V, we find an optimal starting point to further develop them into MENNEKES charging solutions according to our strategic requirements with extended functions and new design," says MENNEKES Managing Director Volker Lazzaro. The focus of MENNEKES' future DC portfolio will be to offer complete solutions for charging in industry and commerce, including the corresponding services.

Five years of DC expertise
The company CHARGE-V, part of the VISPIRON Group, with 30 employees was founded five years ago and specializes in the development of intelligent DC charging systems. "In recent years, we have laid a strong foundation – technologically, organizationally, and in collaboration with partners and customers. The transfer of the charging portfolio to MENNEKES is a consistent step to further scale our DC products and for our customers to benefit from a strong provider," explains Christopher Lehne, Managing Director of CHARGE-V.
Amir Roughani, Managing Director of VISPIRON and main shareholder of CHARGE-V, emphasizes: "Our goal has always been to enable real change through technology. With MENNEKES, we have found a partner who carries forward our vision of powerful, reliable, and intelligent charging infrastructure and brings it to industrial scale. We at VISPIRON continue to contribute to change by focusing on the development and operation of hybrid power plants."

Outlook for the coming months
MENNEKES takes over the CHARGE-V portfolio, which is currently still in the certification process. Since successful certification depends on external bodies, no specific timeline can be given at this time. The launch of MENNEKES' further developed own DC series, with 80 (2 x 40) kW or 160 (2 x 80) kW charging power, in a new look will take place in 2026. "We are confident that with this investment we will further expand our strong position in the eMobility infrastructure market," Volker Lazzaro looks optimistically into the future. "Strong partners, a comprehensive product portfolio, diverse services, a talented team – we have everything to offer the market a comprehensive and special range of electric vehicle charging solutions."
